3rd Annual Giving Tree

Many of us came very close to losing our homes from the Kincade fire; some of us did. It made us realize just how fragile having shelter can be. Our shelterless community feel this way every day. Let’s help make a small difference in their lives this holiday season.

This is the third year that children, now in the 7th grade at The Healdsburg School, have made ornaments for the Christmas tree at Oakville Grocery. Each ornament has the name of a shelterless Healdsburg resident and what he or she want for Christmas.  In the past two years, every one of our shelterless residents received what he or she asked for. There will be a lot of ornaments this year, so I hope we can continue to fulfill their wishes. For many of them, this is this is the only gift he/she receives.

How to Grant a Wish and Bring Joy:

1. Select a hand-made ornament.
2. Find the name on the ornament.
3. Purchase the gift he/she requests.
4. Wrap the gift with the person’s name on the outside.
5. Deliver the gift to Oakville grocery from 9 am to 5 pm any day through December 18.
