Presentation on the interplay between the PG&E Bankruptcy and Kincade Fire recovery. Attorney Matthew Welty will be discussing the status of the current Bankruptcy proceedings and the way Kincade Fire claims will be treated in light of recent CA case law on business loss claims resulting from Civil Authority evacuation orders.
Matthew Welty is a local attorney born and raised in Sonoma County who is an expert in fire insurance claims and recovery. Prior to 2017, Matt developed an expertise in business and real property law. Since 2017, Matt has successfully adjusted dwelling, agricultural, business loss, and other commercial related fire loss claims. Matt’s law firm has partnered with two leading plaintiff firms to represent over a thousand claimants in PG&E Bankruptcy resulting from the 2017 and 2018 fire events. He is actively involved in advocating on behalf of fire survivors in all aspects of the Bankruptcy claim process. Matt and his team represent a growing number of Kincade Fire victims seeking recovery from PG&E and are preparing to bring a new filing when legally able.
