Job Title: Tasting Room Sales Associate

Employment Status: Part-Time

As a part of the Wilson Artisan Wineries family, the part-time Tasting Room Sales Associate at Mazzocco Winery is
responsible for providing the front line guest experience by developing relationships that promote the sale of wine and
increase brand loyalty. This is a part-time position, including weekends, events and occasional evenings and is
approximately 14-24 hours per week. This position description may be modified at any time, and other duties and
responsibilities may apply.

• Ensure that all guests are greeted immediately upon entry to the Tasting Room and provided with experiences that
will build brand loyalty.
• Communicate in a knowledgeable, professional and gracious manner with all guests in the Tasting Room.
• Maintain winery physical setting to reinforce standards of the brand by ensuring that displays of wine products are
attractive and well-maintained.
• ID guests to ensure each is of legal age to consume alcohol.
• Serve samples of wine for guests in both individual and group settings.
• Share appropriate information and educates guests about Mazzocco Sonoma wines, brand history and sister wineries.
• Promote the sale of wine products in the tasting room, pursues sales opportunities and encourages customers to buy
Mazzocco Sonoma wines and join the wine club.
• Accurately use POS registers and other winery systems to transact sales and maintain tasting room inventory.
• Demonstrate personal accountability in following all company policies and procedures.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, which includes but is not limited to: setup and breakdown of tables, chairs
and all items related to Tasting Room function.
• Ensure the cleanliness and aesthetics of the winery.
• Maintain physical inventory of merchandise items and restocks wine in the Tasting Room.

 Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills – maintain excellent working relationships with
customers, vendors and co-workers
 Customer service focus – friendly, helpful demeanor
 Ability to lift, stack and move 40 lb. cases on a regular basis
 Acute attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
 Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and productivity
 Minimum 21 years of age
 First-hand knowledge, appreciation and passion of wine and wine-related topics
 Ability to work weekends and evening events

 One or more years tasting room wine sales
 California Food Handler certified
 Responsible Beverage Service certified

KEY RELATIONSHIPS - Work closely as part of the sales team taking direction from the Tasting Room Coordinator and
Sales Manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT – Most duties will be performed indoors, including office and tasting room spaces. Some duties
include being outdoors during onsite and offsite events.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS – The ability to work on your feet for up to 8 hours a day is required. The employee must be able
to lift/pull/push/carry 40 lb. boxes on a repetitive basis. The employee will also be required to speak, listen, taste, smell,
reach, sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel and crouch on a frequent basis.
