Illuminations is an innovative walking tour of light art sculptures throughout the downtown Healdsburg business district. Featuring large-scale light installations by some of the top local and Bay Area contemporary artists, interactive sculptures, and custom-built light tunnels and environments, the project strives to safely bring everyone joy, wonder, and inspiration in these challenging times.

“Now more than ever, we need light in our lives,” says Illuminations curator, Jessica Martin, “and the lights in each project speak to our tremendous resilience, creativity, and interconnection.”

The projects include over 16 large-scale sculptures, video projections, and light environments in outdoor areas and in over a dozen commercial spaces. Art installations include Alice Sutro’s building projections of animated drawings of local business owners and employees, a 20-foot hanging kinetic sculpture by Oakland-based Philip Pasqualino, a glass globe sculpture by Sklo, light pieces by Victoria Wagner, a hanging “waterfall” by Moey Nelson, installations at Harmon House and a GPS sound tour by Hugh Livingston, a sound drawing by Heike Liss, sculpture by Linus Lancaster, and many more.

Illuminations is part of the “Voices" project, a series of installations, temporary murals, and interactive art projects for Healdsburg Chamber’s  "Creative Reopening” and the city’s "Open Streets" initiatives. Support comes from Healdsburg Chamber, Rotary, Creative Sonoma, the NEA, and local businesses.
