Art Exhibit: Celebrating Women

Date: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2/15/26 MARCH EXHIBIT: CELEBRATING WOMEN EXHIBIT DATES: February 23 – March 29, 2026 RECEPTION: SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 2026, 4-6 pm: Join in to meet the artists and celebrate the show. Take part in the Gallery’s free monthly drawing for a beautiful work by a Gallery artist. Refreshments will be served. Sonoma County artist, Tosya Shore, presents Celebrating Women, paintings that commemorate women in honor of Women’s History Month. Shore’s watercolor works capture women in their element, showing the multiple facets of their lives. These dynamic paintings break away with strong shapes and interlacing patterns that draw the viewer in exciting ways. A la Degas, we catch a ballet dancer lacing her shoes in “Good Point.” The artist takes us into nature with “Redwood Rendezvous” where dominant trunk shapes frame a couple enjoying a glorious forest scene. “Just Back from Vegas” captures a fleeting view of elegance as the woman in question catches her breath. “There’s such special feeling in these everyday moments, I love to turn the mundane into magic – women deserve nothing less,” noted Shore. Meet the artist: Shore will be hosting the Gallery on March 5 and 19 from 11am to 6 pm. The Stairway Smallworks Showcase features Donna Schaffer’s Ooh La La, Plein Air, a collection unveiling oil paintings made on her recent trip to France. Roaming the streets of Paris, toting paints and palette, Schaffer captured iconic scenes buzzing with “la belle vie.” The viewer catches a true cultural vibe in “Café le Bistro”, the site of a favored hangout for espresso and conversation. One is awed by the structure rising from the ground-level trees in Schaffer’s unique view of the Eiffel Tower in “Paris is for Lovers.” “Every day was an adventure in Paris – I hope through these plein air vignettes, to share the excitement of being there”, stated Schaffer.
