35th Annual Health & Wellness Cycling Tour
The Rotary Club of Healdsburg Sunrise holds events that encourage physical activity, supports organizations addressing food insecurity and homelessness, leads vital projects to protect and improve our environment and awards youth scholarships. Come ride with us!
We are working out the details for another great ride. Using Ride with GPS , you will tour through the vineyards, valleys and vales. Take your time or race your friends. Enjoy some of the most beautiful country in the world with a Mediterranean climate, home to world class wines, Michelin rated restaurants, and all for a good cause. The updated URL for Ride with GPS will be available at a later date.
The Healdsburg Community Center at 1557 Healdsburg Avenue will be the starting point for the ride and we will gather there for after-ride activities.
All riders will enjoy a delicious lunch catered by Chef Tim Wilcox of River Rock Casino. Chef Tim is a professionally trained Hotel Executive Chef and has been the Director of Food and Beverage at River Rock Casino for over ten years. He has peddled over 30 thousand miles on his commute to work since moving here from Palm Desert in 2011(check him out on Strava). Tim enjoys giving back to his community, and helps support many local events including the Giro Vigneti Healdsburg and Northern Sonoma County Fire and Earthquake Safety Expo. He personally carves the Ice Sculpture for GVH, the only cycle tour in California with an Ice Sculpture. Chef Tim encourages you to Keep On Peddling! The menu for lunch is:
Chicken Chili Verde Soft Tacos in flour tortillas (Corn tortillas available for gluten free guests)
Black Bean and Roasted Corn Salad
Spicy Marinated Vegetable Salad
Baja Style Slaw
Sonoma Salad
Roasted Garlic Salsa
Lime Wedges
Roasted Jalapenos
Fresh Baked Cookies, Brownies, Cream Puffs
Bottled Water and ice cold beer!
Valet bicycle parking will be provided in partnership with the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition so that you may enjoy the lunch and not worry about getting back to your vehicle.
If you want to make a whole weekend out of it, we can help. We are adding some options starting with dinner on Friday evening. We are also working on additional "health and fitness" activities for post-ride and Sunday morning. Stay tuned for details!
