Art Exhibit: Hanging Out

Local artist, Tosya Shore, presents Hanging Out, a collection of watercolor paintings from her unique Laundry Series. The artist loves wandering through the back streets of European towns, snapping images of laundry flapping in the breeze. She then translates these images to paintings that take the viewer to these niches of vibrant color and life. Fluid shapes of laundry dance against background geometric forms. “I love the juxtaposition of the architectural shapes against the flopping shapes of laundry,” noted Shore. This series was inspired by a scene in Rovinj, Croatia. Shore’s love for her medium, watercolor, shines forth in her spirited, bright bold work. Over twenty years ago, she began painting and credits her teachers with helping her persevere. She explains, “I enjoy the process and let go of the results as it became my passion.” She has exhibited in the region including participation in Art Trails.
